PS.Cafe and La Fondue @ Dempsey Hill

::PS.Cafe
28B Harding Road, Singapore 249549

The time my friend and I went to Dempsey Hill, it was raining cats and dogs. Instead of taking taxi, which seems to be the norm for visitors to the place with no car, we decided to walk from the bus stop opposite Dempsey Road. It was not the most convenient way of course, and to add to our desperate situation, I forgot to bring my umbrella, which meant that two people had to share the same umbrella. Finding PS.Cafe wasn't easy either. After a few wrong turns we found what we missed on our first try. We reached the cafe at 5.30 and quickly made an on-the-spot reservation for dinner, which started from 6.30 onwards.

Double Chocolate Blackout Cake served with vanilla ice cream ($14.90). This was the best of our orders that day, and my saying so was really not because of my strong inclination to desserts and sweets. The chocolate coating was rich and super sinful while the cake itself was velvety and moist. It came with a very big serving and even if you are not on diet, I am sure you need to share it with at least another person.

PS. Fish & Chips ($28). The three strips of fish were disappointingly so-so. On my first cut, I discovered that they were rather oily. I wonder how it could cost me that much. The fries were crispy and good, alleviating a bit of my disappointment on the fish.
Chicken Rossa Penne ($24), grilled chicken, penne pasta, smoked bacon, spinach & mixed mushrooms tossed with garlic tomato light cream sauce. My friend said it was ordinary.

:: La Fondue
25 Dempsey Road #01-04
After making reservation at PS.Cafe we headed towards La Fondue. My friend actually wanted to try cheese fondue but after seeing the menu, I really preferred some sweet things so I persuaded her to go for chocolate fondue instead. The prices of all the fondues were sky high. If you are on a budget, this is definitely not your piece of cake. The restaurant itself had a kinda romantic ambience with Mexican music playing at the background.
Cookies and Cream ($38). Was good, fortunately, especially after considering the price we paid for it.
