PS Cafe

PS Cafe is always crowded by people who appear posh and happy and relaxed, regardless of how they are in real life. Anyway I always like the ambience here and I guess that is what keeps me coming back over and over again, though not that frequent.
Banana Butterscotch Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream ($12.90). I like this one as much as I like the Double Blackout Cake, both so sinful and pleasing.
Fish Croquette Benedict ($27). I find the croquette a little bit too salty, with the fish tasteless and the hollandaise sauce a bit blend. Next time I would just stick to Portobello Stack (picture below) which I have tried and loved.
Portobello Stack ($23)

Here we go with another two cupcakes from Delifrance! Choco Locco and Strawberry Adore ($4.30 for two). Happified!

Delifrance at YIH!

I was very delighted when I realized that there was Delifrance in NUS, to be exact at YIH! There is student price, though I am not sure whether it is for all items or for specific ones only. The usual price for the cupcakes is $2.80 each but if you are a student, you need to pay only $2.40 each. I think there is other promotion going on because I was told that if I bought two, then it would be even cheaper. So I bought 2 and paid $4.30.

Mineral Day Spa Mango Scrub Salt($24.60)
Fresh Farm Green Grape Foam Cleanser ($6.90)
I haven't tried the scrub but I simply love the sweet grape flavor of the facial foam.

Starbucks Coffee, Re-evaluated

I used to think that cakes in Starbucks were a little more expensive than cakes in other shops. It was 4 years ago. I remember New York Cheesecake at Gelare cost me $4.5 and cakes at The Coffee Bean $3-$5 while those at Starbucks already cost me $5-$7. And for that reason, I didn't go to Starbucks often. But now, as more and more cake shops open - most are concept stores with stylish decor and even more stylish and usually expensive cakes - and along with this, more and more cakes tried, I come to feel that dishing $6-$7 for a slice of cake is common. And eventually Starbucks' cakes no longer seem so expensive.

Peach Souffle Cheesecake ($6.30)

I was running out of body scrub and since I am quite swarmed with my duties at work and school recently, I couldn't find time to go Orchard to get my favorite Sephora body scrub. Royal Jelly & Honey Sugar Scrub from Marks & Spencer is equally inaccessible since the nearest one is at Vivo and it is quite time-consuming to go there. I like body scrubs from The Body Shop but I have one complaint, which is that the price to me is quite expensive. So I looked around at The Face Shop at Jurong Point and bought this for $22.90. Not bad. The scrub beads are a little small for my standard but I am fine with it. The scrub beads of Sephora body scrub are small and feel somehow abrasive and this is how I like my scrub beads most. Marks & Spencer sugar scrub that I mentioned earlier has scrubs of sugar rice so the texture is as you guess how it is. The scrub beads from The Body Shop body scrub depend on the flavors and I like those made of seeds the most.

Durian MPire

The time I went there, I was astonished to find that there were only two durian products served, which were also what I bought. I wonder why they still named the shop 'Durian MPire' when durian was not the highlight and obviously did not reign over other items.
Durian Cake ($8). Nice but overpriced.
Durian Cheesecake ($3.80).Durian and cheese did not go well hand in hand. I found the taste a little strange.
