The Icing Room @ Jurong Point

Don't be deceived by their oh-so-pretty look. Again, they were rubbery. I now come to believe that all roll cakes from The Icing Room are made that way, rubbery and hard, much like leftover cakes from yesterday. Refer to http://theunwrittendeed.blogspot.com/2009/09/icing-room.html for my previous post on the same case.
Merry Macha ($4.20)

Calvin Klein's Escape ($95). Literally my first love, the one that I feel suited my characters and attitudes the most.

Sephora's Irresistible Toffee Body Scrub($16)
Uniqlo's tank tops

Royce' Nama Chocolate Au Lait ($15), recommended to me by a lot of friends and eventually I am convinced and decided to give it a try. Very nice indeed.

Jennifer Crusie, Bet Me

"'...Your prince is on his way.' 'Right, I’m sure he was on his way but a truck hit him.'"

"Where were all the women gamblers? It wasn’t as if being a woman wasn’t a huge risk all by itself. Twenty-eight percent of female homicide victims were killed by husbands or lovers. Which, come to think of it, was probably why there weren’t any women gamblers. Living with men was enough of a gamble." Minerva Dobbs

"That was one good thing about packing extra pounds, you got cleavage to burn."

"'What have you got against charming?' 'It so rarely goes hand in hand with 'honest'."

"'You’re not by any chance my stepmother are you?''Because that would explain so much.'"

"I was listening to Elvis singing ‘Love Me Tender’ last night, and it occurred to me that if he’d been reincarnated, he’d be about twenty-seven now, and I’m open to younger men. Statistically, the most successful marriages are those in which the woman is eight years older than the man. So I’ve decided to wait for Elvis to find me." Minerva Dobbs

"'What flaws?' 'Of course I have them, but I’ve been on my best behavior with you. Except for hitting you in the eye and attacking you on a picnic table.'"

"We don’t have to chill the wine at home, the atmosphere does it for us. "

"She sighed and picked up the snow globe Bonie had given her for Christmas, Cinderella and her prince on the steps of their blue castle, doves flying overhead. Cal Morrisey would look right at home on those steps. She, on the other hand, would be asked to try the servant’s entrance." Minerva Dobbs

"Men are visual."

ION @ Orchard

::The Nautilus Project
Raspberry Marshmallow ($3)

Chocolate Macaron and Lavender Macaron ($1.80 each). The chocolate one was nice, top sprinkled with cocoa powder. The lavender one was mediocre. By the way, macaroon and macaron are different types of confection. Refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macaron for more information. I talk about this because I really find it amusing that even some shops who sell macarons are either mistaken or unaware of the difference between the two! This shop is one example of those that don't get it right.
::TWG Tea
Macarons ($2 each)
Pastries ($8.50 each). They are not given names, not that it matters because they taste so nice.

::Thann
Some Thailand beauty products (hair mask and moisturizing body spray). Tried and love it, especially the body spray because it is water-based therefore friendly to sensitive skin.

Fosters - The English Rose Cafe

Mediterranean Seafood Spaghetti ($24)
Roast Herbed Half Chicken ($18)
Chicken ala Kiev ($18)
Cod Fish & Chips ($23)
Gratinated Baked Fish ($25)

All prices haven't included taxes. For more on their menu and restaurant, go to http://www.fosters-restaurant.com/alacartemenu.htm. Located at Holland Village, this charming little cafe seems to have it all. Nice ambience (it is nearing Christmas and the season's ornaments adorn the whole room), hearty food, and attentive staff. The main disappointment and the main factor that makes me feel hesitant to come again came after we were served the foods (for which we waited for about half an hour), when the staff stopped filling the water in our glass. It seemed that lingering after meal was greatly discouraged. The food was great. The Mediterranean Seafood Spaghetti that I ordered was served with generous amount of their rich homemade tomato sauce and the seafood was fresh. Chicken in chicken ala kiev was infused with herby sauce that tasted very nice, making it my next target if I ever to come to that place again. Gratinated baked fish was another winner. The roasted chicken was good, though it somehow lacked the punch. My friend who ordered it looked bored.
