Let's See if I Am More

Just for a change from my exercise ritual. I don't know if I am going to feel more motivated or depressed, after money was involved. Oh ya, remind me to redeem my Deal.com voucher of marshmallow pops. I haven't printed the voucher out yet (that can only be done tomorrow at school if I remember it) and given my hectic schedule and my demented brain, chance is high that I forget it.

Soap & Glory's Scrub'Em and Leave'Em Body Buff ($17, 300 ml). Very fragrant and I can't wait to try it!
Update: Tried very soon after this post. It seems to be sugar and bead scrubs. A bit dry in itself but with the help of splashes of water, I had great time.

Hediard

Everytime I passed this cafe and restaurant on my way to Orchard from Tanglin, I was intrigued by its secluded and expensive look. Its exterior and interior was dominated by red color, and I suspect it was it that exuded the atmosphere that I felt. I was delighted when I noticed big macarons in the display counter. I only saw macarons this big when I was in Europe. Here they cost slightly more expensive (S$6.83 as compared to €2-€3). Only three flavors were available today and I ordered one for each. Besides the cafe it was a shop selling a variety of Hediard products. There were jams, tea, and some other stuff.
Chocolate with Earl Grey
Some berry with pistachio and berry fillings. It was the best among the three.
Sea Salt Caramel. I liked it too and ranked the second.

Wild Honey

My second attempt to have brunch here and this time I succeeded. The first time I went there with my friend, it was 1 pm. We didn't know that the place was so popular, with long queue and the waitress telling us that our waiting time was between 1.5 to 2 hours. We were pretty hungry already so we gave it up and went somewhere else to eat. Well, that somewhere else was actually Domani and I posted about the restaurant some time ago. Today my friend and I reached there at 10.30, hoping to avoid long queue. Not bad, the waiting period this time was between 30 and 45 minutes. We walked around Mandarin Gallery though sadly most of the shops were still closed where the cafe was located and exactly 45 minutes later, my phone rang. Our table was ready!
I ordered English ($22), which satisfied me both in taste and quantity, though the latter was a tad more than I could handle (I left behind the crunchy toast). The plate consisted of scrambled eggs, potatoes, mushrooms, baked beans, sausage, bacon, and toast.
My friend ordered S.O.B. ($18), basically salmon capped in buns. It seems to be a temporary item since it was not listed on the main menu.

Charlie Brown Cafe

I saw my first Charlie Brown Cafe when I was in Hong Kong a few months back. I was desperately seeking for something I would feel comfortable to eat for dinner, alone, as I boarded an earlier plane than my friend's and so I was on my own for a few hours after I landed at 8 pm that night. I passed this cafe which was located at Tsim Sha Tsui but since it was new to me and I wasn't sure if I could get anything from it, I passed it for Pizza Hut instead. I told my friend later about my excitement to find this cafe but too bad, til the last day we were there, we didn't make it to it. That time I didn't know there was also one in Singapore and was quite regretful. I like Charlie Brown cartoons, and the one that was etched in my heart since I was very young was 'Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (and Don't Come Back!!).
Anyway so much so for the story; here was the picture of what I had when I visited the cafe today, Choc Lava Cake ($6.50). The cake was good and I would come back to try their other items.

Food For Thought... Again

I just went there last week but since I like the place, I chose it again for this week's brunch. Although all the tables were occupied by patrons when we reached the place, my friend and I was lucky as we got our table in 5 minutes. Indeed, the whole time we were there, the queue, if there was, was never too long.

House Works ($12). Basically the simpler version of what I had last week, Full Works, which had garlic mushroom as well as sausage.
Seafood Risotto ($18), quite nice.
Iced Latte ($5)
Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice ($5)
Passion Fruit Cheesecake ($7), sour and salty flavours dominated this cake, with a hint of sweetness mostly from the cheese.
