Smoked Salmon & Avocado with Poached Eggs, Ricotta on Sourdough ($15). I agreed with my friend when she said that if the dish was accompanied with hollandaise sauce, it would taste richer. Indeed. I felt that the ricotta and sourdough themselves are already salty. The eggs are not any help in balancing the taste. So in the end, we asked for some hollandaise sauce and our lunch became much tastier.

Food For Thought @ 8 Queen Street

Full Works ($18), falls in Breakfast menu which available from 9 am to 5.30 pm. Just wondering: Does anyone eat breakfast at 5 pm? I thought it was called tea time or early dinner. Anyway the food was good and also came in big portion. I am definitely going there again to try the pancakes and the pasta.

Sumo Salad's Low Fat Chicken & Avocado (small, $5.90). Reminded me of lunches that I had when I was in Europe.

My new toys. I am not really into beauty and skin care products actually. To prove, I only have one set of eyeshadows and blush powders which I was forced to buy for my convocation two years ago. And ever since, I never touched it again. I have just donated my nail polishes and nail polish remover to my sister because I reckoned they had been sitting in the cupboard unused for also two years. But I like shower gels and body scrubs and recently hair mask.
Last week when I went for my haircut, which was long overdued as it has been 4 months since the last time I had one (I normally go to saloon once every two months), I was told that my hair was dry. Though I was certain that it was because I just came back from two-hour walk under scorching sun, I nevertheless asked the stylist for any recommendation of products that I could use. So I ended up buying the hair mask (the first in the picture) which cost me $69.
The Face Shop was having 20% storewide discount and I happened to run out of body scrub so I bought two though I always feel that the beads are too small and the effect of scrubbing is less (White Lily U.P.$22.90, Sake U.P. $25.90).
When I went to Sephora last week, a friend of mine recommends me to try the creamy shower gel Clean on Me from Soap & Glory ($12). I indeed like it as the fragrance lingers long on my skin.

I haven't been to Takashimaya Shopping Centre for long so I have no idea of when this pretty shop opens. My friend and I were drawn to the shop when we saw what looked like macarons. When we got closer we found out that the tiny round-shaped delicacies were actually whoopies.

We got ourselves cherry cheesecake ($8),

raspberry chocolate bar ($4.50), lemon meringue whoopie ($1.80), and classic chocolate whoopie ($1.80).
I like the cheesecake a lot and this is the first time I tried cheesecake with cherry.
The whoopie pie tasted like a whoopie pie. This is my first time seeing the mini size of it.

Bakerzin's Prepacked Macarons at $8.20 excluding GST, from top: blackcurrant (or is it grape?), lemon, chocolate, raspberry, pistachio, rose. The texture was inconsistent. The chocolate and raspberry ones were gooey and the shell limp while the blackcurrant (grape) one was crispy throughout. Sigh.
